The 3rd Philippine Environment Summit held in Cagayan de Oro was a success!
3RD Philippine Environment Summit
" Paradigm (re)shift :Heeding Nature"
Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center,
Limketkai Center, Cagayan de Oro City
February 26-28, 2020
The three-day event was held successfully despite the scare of novel coronavirus(COVID-19) outbreak. It was participated with over 200 guest and participants from different cities and municipalities. The organizers were able to adopt some precautionary measures and protocols against COVID-19.In view of the situation, I have observed that the following measures were put in place during the event at Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center: Alcohol hand sanitizers was provided at all touch points, there were increased cleaning frequency of the hotels public area and display products with disinfectant, temperature screening conducted by City Health Officers and hand sanitizing for all persons upon entrance, and lastly the eco bag or kit provided for every registrants contained 1 small bottle of alcohol based hand sanitizer spray.
It was indeed a time where I was able to ponder on the things that I can contribute as an environmental advocate and redefining my environmental advocacy where I can be able to engage with the younger generation to be active participants in keeping the environment clean by using recycled products for craft projects that can be of some use. and how I can be able to tie up with local communities who may be affected by problems such as the management of surface water or ground water or deforestation.I also consider on how to tie up and work with other stakeholders such as people from environmental or conservation organisations.
These are the following pics, vids, notes and key take away's that I've got during the 3 day event.
